Blog:  I was born in Middlesbrough in 1982 and have only just moved out of Britain’s ‘worst place to live’ having bought a house in the neighbouring town of Stockton. I attended Teesside Uni for 4 years doing a HND and then a Degree in Sports Studies, I stayed living with my parents during my uni days and am still confused how I managed to rack up more debt then anyone I know who moved away from home?!! My first job out of uni was as an assistant Sports Development Officer for Derwentside Council I then moved jobs to Middlesbrough Sports Development and am now back in Derwentside in my current role as a Community Sport Network Officer. I love my job but not the motorway I see for nearly 2 hours every day on my journeys!

I started playing rugby when I was 15 for Guisborough when one of my friends brothers told me they were starting a womens rugby team and I should go along, which I did and then I was hooked.. in more ways than one as I actually started my first game as a hooker! Unfortunately Guisborough dispanded and I then moved to Middlesbrough where my coach told me I was a scrum half! After a few years I moved to Hartlepool where I have played for the last 6 years, I was captain for the past 4 years and did a lot of the team organising behind the scenes.
This will be my first season with Sharks and I can’t wait for it to start! I’m really looking forward to getting to know everyone and working hard for the team!!

The 2010 / 2011 season will be my third year with the Sharks; I have loved every minute of it so far and enjoyed making friends for life no doubt! The last 2 years has brought many laughs and fancy dress nights with the Jamaican bobsleigh and pirates being amongst my favourites!

My job as fundraising officer for the team has probably made me quite unpopular by making the girls get up really early on Saturdays to do bag packs at the local Morrisons!

I’m really looking forward to the coming season to continue with the progress we have been making recently and hopefully be real contender’s for the premiership title!
