Jennifer’s blog:
I was born in South Africa but was never destined to be a springbok as my family returned to the North West of England when I was 3. I went to Teesside Uni at 19 and currently live in Stockton and work for the Stockton Healthy Schools Team promoting healthy lifestyles.
Growing up I was a keen runner and used to compete at county and regional level regularly and was 6th fastest in the country over 600m when I was 9 and was Lancashire 800m champion 5 years running from the age of 10! During college I lost interest in running and became more involved in team sports. When I started Uni I basically wanted to join every team going and after playing Gaelic Football drifted into the Women’s Rugby team and, despite breaking my finger in the first match I never looked back!
I played for Hartlepool Ladies for the past 5 years and have just moved to the Sharks this season. I’m really excited about the move and am enjoying every minute already!
