I was born in Nairobi, Kenya in 1982 and moved back and forth form England to Africa due to my dad’s job, we eventually settled in Berwick (soon to be Scotland) when I was about 8
I attended Berwick High School which gives you life experience if nothing else, I somehow managed to pass 1 of my 3 A’ levels, I then moved to Newcastle collage to do Maths, Physics, Accountancy and Further Maths, with a serious lack of attendance I still managed to pass (I am not proud of this!). I am now self employed.
I started playing rugby at the age of 15 when a friend thought it would be a good idea, she played for a few months and I’m still playing! I used to play netball at county level but took early retirement to concentrate on my rugby lol.
Berwick Ladies was my first club and we were as infamous off the pitch as we were on, usually know as the women who could drink more than the men! I then moved to Novo’s for a brief period and my final move was to Thirsk, and I can honestly say I don’t think I could ever play for another team, these ladies are my best friends,
I have played for the County and have represented the North East at regional level, and my one claim to making it was Trailing for the best team in the world…… yes you guessed it Scotland!! Unfortunately I am currently unable to play for them due to a couple of really small complications…. I was born in Africa and technically Berwick is part of England (although they play all their sports in Scotland and everyone wants to be Scottish!!)
If I’m not at work or at training I can usually be found climbing indoor rock climbing walls and falling off them, fondly know as ‘smacking the mat’
